It’s hard to believe next Sunday I will be in Kenya. I feel excited, nervous, and a little astonished that I am going on this incredible adventure. My heart is full. I hope to come back to Saskatoon a better person with a renewed sense of purpose.
Part of the reason I started this blog was to share the work of other creatives that inspire me. Below are some beautiful, handmade objects from Africa. The boucherouite rugs and toy animals are made from recycled materials. The textiles are made according to traditional African techniques. I love the colours, creativity and ingenuity that go into the creation of these home décor items and toys!

When I return there will be a canvas waiting to capture of glimmer of what I experienced with Free The Children and Me to We. It will be a difficult artistic project, but I’m up for the challenge.
A dear friend, one of the strongest, happiest, smartest women I know, shared an article on twitter this week about why powerful women make the best friends. “Surrounding yourself with the best people doesn’t make you look worse by comparison. It makes you better.” I couldn’t agree more!
For the sunshiny month of June let us take a note from Ann Friedman and remember – “I don’t shine if you don’t shine”.
This month let’s share the love and celebrate each other’s awesomeness.
YAY it’s May! This month I decided to do something different a showcase some beautiful desktop wallpapers (that are not necessarily calendars). These wallpapers are fresh, minimalist, and perfect for spring. Happy May! Bring on the sunshine, flowers, and double digits. I can’t wait!
Well it’s April and there is still snow and ice on the ground in Saskatchewan. As I said last month, hopefully warmer weather is just around the corner. My not-so-secret wish is the snow will disappear by my birthday! Until then I will console myself with a grilled cheese sandwich (see bottom of this post).

April is National Grilled Cheese Month and my friends at BS in the Kitchen are posting a new grilled cheese EVERY DAY. This is quite an (indulgent and impressive) accomplishment. My favouite grilled cheese to date: Wine & Cheese Grilled Cheese! AMAZING. A great sandwich to celebrate my birthday later this month, with a side salad to balance the meal, and a glass or three of wine!
A modern progressive world needs equality.
I want to take a moment to celebrate International Women’s Day. March 8 marks a celebration of resilience, femininity, and the achievements of women around the world.
All women deserve the freedoms of health, education, and justice. All women deserve the power to give themselves and their families the best possible future. I am so incredibly fortunate to live in a time and place that is largely respectful of gender rights. We need to remain tenacious for future sustainable change.
Enjoy this mashup of girl-power, feminism, and equality.

It’s March! Hopefully this means warmer weather is just around the corner. Get a head start on spring cleaning this month by tidying up your desktop calendar.
February has to be one of the most difficult winter months. It is a month filled with ice, snow, and cold. Do something special for yourself, warm up with a cup of coffee and Baileys and give your computer a quick facelift with a new desktop calendar!
Happy New Year friends!
2012 has been a crazy, fabulous year. I moved from Vancouver to Saskatoon. I started a new job in a new industry. I sadly said goodbye to my wonderful Vancouver besties. Fortunately I met some amazing girls in Saskatoon who made this transition much easier. 2012 has been a rollercoaster year of change.
Thank you to all my friends and family for their support in 2012. I feel like I am where I should be.
Get a fresh start on 2013 by changing your desktop wallpaper!
